About The T.R.I.G.G.E.R. Project

Our Mission

The True Reasons I Grabbed the Gun Evolved from Risks (T.R.I.G.G.E.R.) Project aims to challenge the norms and stigmas associated with gun violence in communities of color across the nation. Our focus is on transforming narratives surrounding gun violence by providing a safe space for youth survivors and sharing the often-untold stories of individuals affected by daily gun violence. By fostering understanding, we seek to reduce homicides within these vulnerable populations.

Our Team

Our team, composed of advocates, survivors, former offenders, volunteers, and youths, is dedicated to raising awareness and driving change regarding gun violence. We aspire to eliminate intentional interpersonal homicides in communities of color by 2100. Understanding that the shooter cannot be viewed in isolation, we emphasize the importance of examining why gun violence occurs so frequently in these areas. Through collaborative efforts, we aim to identify and address the root causes of urban gun violence.

Our History

The impact of gun violence resonates deeply with our team members, many of whom have been personally affected by homicide rates in various major cities. Recognizing the urgent need for innovative approaches to combatting gun violence, The T.R.I.G.G.E.R. Project elevates the voices of those closest to incidents of violence.
